The Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition is the most prestigious guitar competition in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition, in its 15th year, held its final on 14 September 2025.

This highly esteemed annual event has served as a springboard for numerous up-and-coming artists globally, including South Korea’s Young Taek Jo, who earned the top prize in 2024.   • AUD $10,000 prize money
  • A Jim Redgate Guitar, valued at AUD $23,000 
  • An invitation to perform at a future Adelaide Guitar Festival (including all travel expenses)

Second Prize

  • AUD $4,000 prize money

Third Prize

  • AUD $2,000 prize money
